something to do with the Czech Republic (according to the stripes and the flag on the door)?

or it might be an E.M.W. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/idea.gif)

it's hard to give hints on this one, i'm afraid it will give it away, but the company is alive today, and is involved in motorsport racing.

well, that's it - my first guess wasn't that bad (Czech Rep.)

it's a Skoda Sport (1949)

QUOTE
Although a purely cheap range of cars, the post-war period of Skoda features also interesting sporting cars. Above (first and second pics), the  Skoda "Sport" (1949), equipped with 1100, 1200 o 1500 cc. engines taken from the normal production. These engines can have one or two Roots compressors, the max power can reach even the 180 hp on the 1500 twin-compressor, absolutely not bad for the period!

Here's a better pic. Note the rear window shape and the single wiper. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/idea.gif)

well, they look a little similar, but the car in question looks more like an offroad version of the one you've found
just look the whole body - it's much higher
