Here is a link about what is happening in Suriname which is where Monique is from. We know several of the people in the articles and are trying to help but more on that later on.

Sometimes you just have to try to help even if its half a planet away and very remote to your own daily life struggles. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)

This trip just blew my paint the 914 wad....damn.

That's awesome, Geoff. Good on you and Monique. Most people I encounter are passive helpers, not aggressive helpers. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)

action speak louder...
smallest independent country on South American continent; mostly tropical rain forest; great diversity of flora and fauna that, for the most part, is increasingly threatened by new development; relatively small population, mostly along the coast

I did not know that!

Haha, the people basically live in one city Paramaribo! there are other small cities and of course the Maroons (escaped slaves desendants) and indians live in the jungle.

Its still a unknown place for tourists so its still largely beautiful!
