so yesterday I felt like i should make it so that my key worked on the locks in my car because i am getting a new job soon and i dont want anyone to go into it. so i took a spare key cylinder we had and re-arraged the pins so that most of them fit, and then took a dremill and grinded them all down so they were smooth. and low and behold, doing that 2 times and some spray lithium greese, and now my doors lock and i can unlock them. yay.
today i am going to do the trunk lock. -rocket |

Those pins are like a Rubic's cube.
You did the right thing, get it as close as you can then, file/grind it down 'till it works. Paul |

Cool, I am glad that people can do things like that AND make them work.
I'll doing this pretty soon as my (EX-CO driver) broke the key off in the ignition. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/alfred.gif) Just ordered a key blank from PP and will get this all fixed. I also "think" I have the spare key from the cool blue teener which I can re-key the racer and then have a spare. Probably a better/ smarter solution. |

The steering wheel lock cylinder is the same a door cylinder.
Changing them is easy. |

The only thing I would have done differently is to take apart all of the locks, and use all of the wafers on the ignition and door locks, so that they have correct wafers. Then when you do the glove box & trunks, you can grind those to fit. Otherwise, nicely done! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smilie_pokal.gif)
