I needed to motivate myself, so I put some rubber on the wheels I bought last year. I'm getting close to the point of re-mounting the suspension and I need to see if any work has to be done around the wheel wells before I start the bodywork. I'd hate to get the car done and find that the wheels don't fit.

The rims are 17 x 7 Revolution RZX's with 914 bolt-spacing and offset. The tires are Yokohama ES100 205/17/50's. Not a race tire by any means, but they are rumoured to handle quite nicely with good tire wear. This combo is 'supposed' to fit under a teener with no work required.

I have the same rims and tires (sorta, mine are 40 or 45 series instead of 50 series)...at least for me, the rims and tires cost way, way more than the car (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/screwy.gif)

I have not pushed the car that hard, but so far I like the tires...

I have the same wheel tire combo on my car. They look great. My only gripe is those wheels are a bit heavy. I had a number for revolution wheel but it is no longer valid for some reason. They are made in the UK. It took 2 months to get mine. I had to roll the lip and pull out my rear fenders just a bit and I have 10mm spacers in the front. Otherwise those tires fit great.
Cheers, Elliot

Thanks for pointing that out. I bought mine from TTS Racing in Arizona, but I noticed that their website doesn't mention Revolution Wheels anymore. TTS used to do a 'group buy' for the 914 crowd with teener specific bolt pattern and offset. It took them over 4 months to fill my order, but I wasn't in a hurry so it didn't matter. I have no idea if S & S do the same thing or not.

I talked to S&S about these wheels. They are now the authorized US importer.

The bad news is that Revolution does not make this size / lug pattern any more.

S&S is willing to do a special order - 60 wheels minimum at about $275 to $300 each. They say that they would consider a 50 wheel minimum and risk selling the remaining 10 retail. That would mean 10 to 13 buyers @ 4 or 5 rims each ($1,200 to $1,600 per buyer)

That kind of sucks. With all the threads about wheel upgrades, I always thought that the Revolutions were a unique option (and looked great on a 914 too). It sounds like if people want a set in the future, it will take someone from the club (non-club) to organise something.

that really sucks...I knew I should have bought at least one extra rim just in case I damage a rim.... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/blink.gif)

any good paint supply shop should be able to get it if you have the paint code to supply to them...yep, the car is going to remain green, however I might change the shade of it.....
