ran out of gas a few weeks ago. gauge was stuck on 1/4 tank, so i decided to have a look at my sender. 1st, i read terry steers' fuel sender tech article on PP. after the little nut is off the bottom, you should be able to pull the internals out from the top. of course, be careful, the little wires are super thin.

here are a few pics, top and float.

the way the guide wires are threaded, i can see where the float could get hung up and show 3/4 full on a fill up. good pictures.
