I used a set of Buick Park-Ave hinges. It does open and close and the fit is perfect. Still have to work out the stops, guides and latch.

Thumbs up !!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif)
I have been tinkering with that idea for a long time. General thought was to use a BMW type hinge, but I always thought it would hold the open trunk too high. The GM hinges seem to put the panel lower and more behind the rear bumper. The more centerd mounting position of the hinges to the trunk lid is a very secure place that can only help it having a smooth opperation. F**king fantastic job +Karma (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) |

That idea will never work on paper... and no matter where you go, there you are... It is a suicide trunk, I would think you could put front hood hinges on there and have it work, like old BMW 7 series, it closed cool. Maybe do lambo doors, or even close it in and make it a gull wing door(I think that would be much cooler, but that is me) Only something I would want on a show car, not a driver. I would put several latches, a la the rear of the targa top to secure that, even put a little rubber piece like on the rear window at the bottom to seal the air flow. at speed that would get snatched off your cars ass like a tomcat in a tornado. Actually on second thought, that would be pretty cool, you could access the latches from the engine compartment and make it totally solid. Do something smooth on the back, I can live with the button, functional and minimalist. Excellent solution to several problems . You are a King among Men |

Thats a sweet motor hidding under there. The latch is going to be the hard part.I see you will need to incorporate a latch for the engine lid aswell (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)
