My air in the house is set at 81, it depends on where you are from. If

I was from the Great White North I guess I too would feel the same.

I am leaving for Fla. in two days, from the frying pan into the fire ( it's 110 here)

If you go to Tillamook (not much there, its a bit inland from the Pacific), take the 3 Capes Scenic Drive (Cape Meares, Cape Lookout, Cape Kiwanda). Stop in Oceanside (my in-laws live there). A great public beach there.

Jen and I fly into Seattle tomorrow afternoon. Plan to do some local sight seeing before the drive down south of Portland to check out the Spruce Goose. Then up to the Monarch for Friday's festivities.

See you there Paul (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

I really like the summers here as they aren't as hot and DEFINITELY not humid like they are in the south (I was stationed in Charleston for 2.5 years). Lightening is rare in Portland. When you see a general forecast for Oregon, any lightening will be in/east of the Cascade mountains or in southern Oregon.

I know some people love the heat and some love the cold. Me and my girlfriend (who's a native of Trinidad and lived in Georgia for several years) love the milder weather here. The only time we tolerate the humidity/heat of other places is when we're vacationing (IMG:style_emoticons/default/drunk.gif)

If you love the heat then I recommend bringing some zip up sweaters/hoodies/sweatshirts as the evenings can sometimes be cool -- it all depends on the air masses we get, either up from California (warmer) or down/across from the Pacific (cooler). The jet stream pretty much goes through Oregon/Washington.

Leave a couple-3 extra hours on your drive down from Seattle.
Take a left at exit 49 & drive up to Mt. St. Hellens. If you've never been there, you've never seen anything like it....

I am flying American Airlines to DFW and on to Fla from there. I'll be staying

in Orlando with family. It's my first time in Fla so I have no idea where those

towns are, am I close?

Great museum - and I saw my first live Cayman in the parking lot.

And (I confess to being a pinky lifter) you will also be driving through Oregon's wine country. There is great Pinot Noir to be tasted nearby (Dundee, McMinnville, Carlton)

Cool... now that Paul is gone, who's available in Central Florida to go to his house and take his car? It's light enough that we only need two of us to pick it up and place it on the roof of my truck?
