At my last track event during the Time Trial my G50 shift tower in Fritz got very loose. My bushing inside the tower (the ball socket bushing) disintegrated. I bought a new one.

Do I put molylube on the inside and outside of the bushing to help with the interference fit into the casting? Or do I just lube the ball socket portion only?

Thanks,

Bill P.

Here's a pic of the tower....

Anytime you use a "wet" lube you run the chance of picking up contaminants.

Which can act like rouge or sandpaper and becon an early failure of bushings.

If Longevity is not an issue lube it up, if it is I would sudjest graphite or nothing.
