Just got my car running after pulling the motor and the idle is up around 3k RPM! What can I do to adjust it down? Tried the screw on the throttle body and on the controller - what other adjustments should I attempt?

Must be a vacuum leak. Triple check every tap/hose below the butterfly in the throttle body, plenum.

Vance - Adjusting the throttle body won't help in this case. That is just to control small variations in your idle. What it sounds like is that you have a very serious vaccum leak some where. Most likely one or more hoses have poped off and all that you need to do is find them and put them back on and the car should idle more around 1k. Kinda scary the first time this happens, but not really a big deal in the end (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) .

Vance... I answered in your other thread.
Check and / or replace all your vacuum lines. You've got a leak. Most likely it is the AAR hose connection loop. At least that's what mine was. Go to it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |
