I ran across a pretty good deal on a complete ej25 engine but it specificly states it is an automatic engine ... do we as 914 owers care if it is a subaru automatic specific engine?

ECU is slightly different, Not sure if it can be fixed or not (standalone will do it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif))

Beyond that, nope, dont care.

I'm pretty sure that the manual transmission ECU would work with it as well. Does it come with the ECU or not? Also, what year is it? (that doesn't matter with respect to the ECU, but to whether its a DOHC or SOHC engine. (SOHC is better))

No way, DOHC and turbo on a 2.5...Hehehehehe

I agree all it will take is a Manual ECU. And SOHC for the NA motors is better.
