Great weather in the Birminham area for the PCA Club Race and Drivers Ed at Barbers this last weekend. Sunny and in the 70's.

Two 914-6's running and the rest were 911 and 944's. Here are some pictures.

Don Ramsay's well prepared Six. Don is a super nice guy and took the time to talk to me about his car before the race. Thanks Don.

I may have a few more I can post. I have an old digital camera so some of the track shots didn't come out real clear.

Sounds like they may not do this event next year, due to poor turnout. I guess it was too close to Sebring and Road Atlanta. Also, most states still have snow this time of year and it's too early to think about racing I guess.

I'll post a few more pictures some time today.

Hey cool.......thats one of my old race cars that I sold to a guy from Birmingham Alabama quite a few years ago. Nice to see it looking so good and still competing.

What a small world. Do you only buy Tangerine sixes?

The owner was busy talking to people and I never got a chance to meet him and ask any questions about the car. It looks like a nicely prepared car.

Have you decided to keep your other Tangerine car?

Hey Rich. Yeah it does seem like everytime a 914 comes my way its usually in the tangerine or orange family. 2 Tangerine, 2 Phoenix red and 2 signal orange.

My M471 car is still in transit. Probably passing through Texas right now. I don't expect it for about another week. I replaced all the shift bushings on my old 6 today and took it for a cruise........when ever I drive my old 6 it does nothing but renew my love of the car. To be perfectly honest, I don't see how I'll ever be able to sell that car. I bought the car when I was 26 years old and I'll be 53 in July. The only thing I've had longer in my life is my lovely and charming wife.

I'm not a red fan, but I do like the oranges and I guess that's why I like your Tangerine car so much.

Maybe the M471 will pass through Montgomery on it's way to you. I will keep an eye out for it.

Unfortunately, I was never able to meet the owner of the silver car. I believe he was from the Birmingham, Alabama area. It looked like a decent driver, but it was backfiring when he took it out on the track during the open track fun run.

Sorry I can't help you anymore. Maybe somebody on the list knows the owner.
