I got my motor in last night and began hooking the cables up. The clutch cable seems to be spring biased to the engagement position. I went to look at the cluster and the clutch pedal is spring loaded to the down position. Is this correct?

Does this then pull the clutch cable so that the through out bearing is constant contact with the pressure plate.

Just seems odd. It's been 4 years since I took apart the last car and I have never driven a 914. Hopefully that will change this weekend. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Yes, that's the way it works. That's one reason that checking the free play on your clutch means pulling up on the pedal--the spring pulls it down.
