What is it about people driving T Hill in the middle of Summer? Bad for your car, bad for you, generally a miserable place with near 100 degree temps forecasted this weekend. I know of a couple of very expereinced drivers/mechanics who refuse to go there this time of year.
Why not go to Hoopa where its almost 10 degrees cooler and trees shade the pavement? |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/w00t.gif) Andy 1:40 for a well prepared 911 with a 3.6 on DOT R tires is what I would expect to see on Laguna Seca from a skilled driver. With racelicks sub 1:40. Hey Andy, Are you planning to do CDS at Laguna Seca in September? Your car would be a blast on Laguna Seca - its a perfect course for a 3.6 on race slicks. You have power required to run with the big boys in the straights/uphill and great cornering ability of the 914. My car rips in the technical stuff but I have to wave bye bye to more powerful cars as we hit the straights and catch up with them in braking zones. Have fun at T Hill. Even with hot temps it should be fun! |

Nothing to do with T-hill, 911s or Hoopa, but... Just for an impressive point of reference, This past weekend at Laguna Seca Casey Stoner (Aus) went 1:22.3 around Laguna on the factory Ducati MotoGP bike. On a race tire! Hijack over. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif) |

that was a great weekend, a bit too hot for my liking, but otherwise very much fun! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)
pete stout was driving tom's blue racecar while tom was shaking down his brand new green racecar ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) here are a few pics: pete's ride for the weekend: tom's new toy, 3.6L with aftermarked FI. very nice setup car: my car, longing for some track time: pete in action (he was surprisingly fast for a pen-scratcher (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) ): (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif) Andy |

oh, and tom's green car has a new bosch RaceLab system installed. jerry woods and i played with it all day friday and finally got it to work.
it's amazing what you can do to a car these days by just playing with a laptop ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/type.gif) you can add any sensor known to man to your car and the software allows you to take all that input and format/crossreference it any way you want and then display it on a digital dash unit ...
