I'm having a particularly annoying problem with my driver side headlight. The white plastic arm keeps popping off. It usually happens when my headlights are up, and I go over a bump.

Off course, this always causes the headlight to fall down, at which point I have to remove the cover, and fish around in the bucket (I usually pinch at least one finger) until I can wedge the white lifter arm back onto the peg.

I have similar problems. I thought the arm had become reversed in previous R&R processes, so I took it off and flipped it arond. There is a minute offset it seems. Mine was too tight against the HL bucket when reversed, so IDK....

It seems to be a fairly recent development. But it's getting worse every time I reinstall it.

get a set of early metal arms. they last longer. make sure the shaft on the motor still has the splines on it. but it's usually the inside of the plastic that wears and doesn't grip anymore ...

There is also a groove in the spivot shaft for a cir-clip. and a washer inbetween. only on one end.
Make sure you put the plastic bushing flange so that it is between the arm not to the outside.

I would make it out of Ti, But that would be a waste. The best way to reduce weight and maintain night-drivability would be to get rid of the headlights all together and have a stealth helicopter follow you around and light your way whenever your driving.

Chris,
After seeing your car, it might be safer and cheaper to just buy a new car (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Is Alpha some type of discarded prototype? If so, he fits.
