Lookin' good Tim. When you get tired of bouncing your way around the tracks out there, let me know and I will help you find something down this way. All the great ones within twelve hours. VIR, RD Atlanta, Barber, CMP, Summit Point, Roebling RD, etc. All smooth and freshly repaved. No brutal winters to destroy them either.

haha, cool Brett, thanks. There may be a new track built sometime next year just east of Denver about an hour, so I have my fingers crossed. Just having a track with a new surface would be good. That said, I need to get a new truck (next project) and dump the Lightning. Luv that truck, but not a great tow vehicle. Need to get a nice diesel with a tow capacity to match the enclosed trailer and car.

I'd have to say that I don't like the part about the car where it is not mine (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Nice work, and a very sweet 914. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) Thanks for sharing.

Hope you guys don't have the problems we are having around RD Atlanta and CMP. All the locals want to bitch about the noise and having to live near a race track. Having driven on the new Rd Atlanta, and new TGPR, I can tell you new pavement is great. Going to Roebling RD in a couple of weeks.

thanks for all the positive responses guys!

As for the proposed new track, it is far enough east of Denver that it shouldn't be an issue. The small town nearby is welcoming it as they know that is tax revenue. Give it 20 yrs tho' (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Went out to a local roundy-round track Saturday to watch some Late Models (which unfortunately was cancelled) but nonetheless made the same comment to my friend when I see the new houses being built up on the ridge behind it. A small airport nearby in Erie is getting a lot of crap as well from the new development across the highway.

I love how people buy a house cheap cuz it is near an airport or race track in the middle of nowhere, then after a couple years start lobbying to close it down. House goes up in value, etc etc. Anybody who buys a house by a noise generator then bitches about the noise should simply be shot. It is Darwin with help. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Yep, people here are doing the same thing here around the drag strip and roundy roundy track. They tried that around Rd Atlanta and Don Panoz told them "We were here 30+ years ago before you moved in and we were here when you moved in, you knew and didn't care, get over it". Glad someone had the balls to stand up to the retarded home owners.

Nice!!!!

I wish there were more wheel selections for our cars.

I found that there are certain manufaturers that will make them but, you have to bring tons of money.

BTW, that left rear looks like it's gonna rub...

Thanks - the body kit is from Roger Sheridan - Sheridan Motorsports. He always has an ad in the back of Excellence and is on the web ultimate914.com and I think (tho' clearly biased (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) ) that he has the coolest body kit for the teener.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) Allen, to be honest, getting the Kodiaks was a PITA with lead time = 6-8 week lead quote turned into double that at ~17wks when I finally got them. They are pretty nice wheels tho' in the end and for the money I can't bitch too much. Not cheap, but for a 3pc racing wheel you can't beat them at ~$600 each by the time I paid import duties and shipping (they're Canadian if the whole Kodiak bear reference didn't make it obvious (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) ) Kinesis and so forth were well over the $3K mark of course. Sucks trying to get selection of 5 on 130mm wheels and is why I had 5 on 5 race wheels before (and they were only $500 for the set new). To get wider rubber tho' I couldn't get race wheels that I liked the looks of over 10". In the end I saved about 2-3lbs per wheel/tire combo including going from 15x8/10s to 16x10/11, but that was an ancillary benefit, I wanted the size specifically for race slick choices.

As for the rub, I have my old rear spacers from the other wheels on it just to get it on the ground. I have some custom, narrower spacers being made for the rear. I am using spacers cuz I wanted to have enough backspace to be able to sell the wheels should I change my mind again (third set of wheels on the car in less than three years (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif) ). That said, I have seen a lot of the 18" wheel crowd run them that close at the track on the rear and my last set were about that close and I didn't have any issues.
