I am heading to New Orleans next week to help fix up houses. Wanted to know if any Teener owners lived there and what the weather is like?

Thanks for coming down, the city really needs all the help it can get. Almost all of the visitors say: "I saw all the news on TV etc., but I didn't realize how really bad it is and how much was destroyed until I saw it with my own eyes."

I don't think that there are many 914's left. The storm killed over 200,000 cars in the flooded zone. I live in the suburbs that wasn't flooded so my 14's were ok. I haven't seen any other 14's since the storm.

The weather is hot. It was 78 today. I think that it will be that way for a few more days. Normal temps for this time of year is 50 - 60. So if a front comes through before you get here, it still won't get very cold.

Thanks again for coming down to help.

Yeah. Jimtab reminded me that I didn't tell you that all of the big attractions are open and smokin. The areas that were flooded were basically residential areas away from the river. (The flood waters came from the lake to the north and the marshlands to the east). So the French Quarter, Warehouse District, Casino, Lower Garden District, Central Business District, Upper Quarter, etc. weren't touched and are open and going strong.

Be sure to pack some party clothes.

Thanks for the info guys. I do not know how much sight seeing I will get to do because there are going to be 2 suv's to move people about, but I am only 20 so I can't drive one grr. Our work day ends between 4-6, but since I can't drive I am pretty much stuck at our little *camp which is really a converted church*. Thursday night we are going to some big thing called the 300 club I think, and there is supposed to be a tour but I am not expecting much. First time I have ever been to New Orleans so at least it will be all new.
