Just curious about what non Porsche project you guys have going on. I know of a few of you but how about ALL of you posting here what you're doing ??

Me :

I've got the BMW cafe conversion underway at work, and at home in addition to the 944 I also have a 1953 Chevy pickup I just got. It's not going to be a real anal type of job, TRYING to make it a fairly quick but nice one. Stock type suspension lowered ALOT; it's a 3/4 ton so it sits pretty high, drop the mild 350 in my Suburban in it along with a th400 or 700R4. Black steelies with red lines tires, and a flat O.D. green Metallic paint. Strongly considering a "tribute" to my dad and grandad. Dad was a Navy sargeant in Nam and my grandad flew gliders in WWII. I figured with the paint I plan to put on it, it would be fitting to put their insignias somewhere on it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif) This right now is a Friday night only thing until I get 2 other issues resolved. So far I have the front fenders mostly stripped and have begun the repair process.

You ??????

Im trying to get a guy at work to sell me his old Honda 900 custom. Remember those, shaft drive with a high/low gear so if you are into shifting you got 10 gears to hit. Its all there just in about 5 boxes...

Well, most of my "projects" for the year aren't car related. The 914 is close to hitting the ground, but then the 73T has to go - doesn't need much, just some minor bucks & TLC. I will miss it!

The big deal is to get the wife retired from the hellhole gov't agency she works for. To do that, we need to move from this montrous house we have. All it needs is paint. But we are questioning where to move to. Struggling, in fact. We like PA, but the property costs & real estate taxes are killers. So our "project" is to get ready for sale & decide where to go! We're using the Franklin approach to every decision & want to maximize the equity we have in the current home.

Probably will be an interstate move & not looking forward to that. Not looking forward to any move! The last time we moved (from Cincy to Philly), we couldn't believe the crap we'd accumulated. Worse this time, because I've accumulated so many Porsche parts in the last 13 years.

Can't wait until this is done - no matter where we wind up.

Attached ImageDecided to do a "Muscle Car"...

always wanted a '68 GTX since I graduated from high school...

Finally found this old girl last year... sold new and spent it's entire life in Modesto...
Dry and lightly used...33K miles...

All original down to the bronze paint... I would like to redo it in a more interesting color, but can't bring myself to change that original paint!

Currently have the dash pulled out to redo the Tach, Radio and Speaker, all of which failed after only forty years of service! Imagine that! Drive train is all original, and will still break the new Radial T/A's loose in all three gears with the 3.23 Sure-Grip...

Hard to beat that 440 ci 375 hp 480 Ftlbs torque!

Ha! 74 BMW R90 (running and doesnt "need" anything), 68 Honda Dream (not needing much), 96 K1100RS (gonna rebuild original engine and drop it back in), looking for a 74-75 VW westy to drop my 180hp corvair turbo engine into (because I have too much time, right?).

Then there is the music - I have a small recording set up with lots of guitars and stuff that I have no time for.

Then there is the R/C air craft and experimental stuff I have parts from.

Then there is the 914 tranny enhancements I have not had time to manufacture and are still sitting on the drawing board (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Not enough hours in the day.

I've gone to bigger things, a 1975 GMC motorhome restoration/modification. I always like these things - much neater than the big boxes that are rolling along the highways. Built like airplanes with aluminum and fiberglass, front wheel drive Toronado drivetrain with a 455ci engine.

As some people call it, a 12,000 lb hotrod with plumbing! You should see this baby up on jackstands!

sick gtx (a kid at my hs had a 69 in the hemi orange (i love that car))

umm

1st is college (cal poly san luis obispo)

then the porsche 914

then my dad and i built a 94 jeep when i was younger (its a 4 banger wrangler, but detriot lockers front and rear, lowered gear ratio, 4 inch suspension and 2 inch body, sway bar disconnects, poison spider rockers, tj universal joints and spindals, k and n intake, 33 inch mud terrain tyres, some more body protection/skidplates, full roll cage (not the stock one) and a few other sorts of goodies)

and *maybe* i will do some work to my daily driver (2003 acura rsx)

and my hobby, my dw drumset (i would provide a picture, but ive made it smaller, and it still says the file size is too big (or maybe the drumset is too big))

ive been playing the drums since i was about 9, and now i have a dw drumset, 1 bass drum, 4 toms, and 2 snares, and a bunch of cymbals, and a cow bell

29 Ford 5 window coupe Buick V6 TH 350 trans, 9" Ford RE. Car has sat in garage for over 40 years. Ford factory black paint on the body. I am planning to leave it as is, no new paint.
Z'd frame to give it a LOFAT look.

Let see, I don't have much in the way of fun projects mostly required stuff.
I have a house built in 1955, the roof leaked and I am repairing the ceiling and wall from the water damage. I paid to have the roof fixed.
I have a 1976 Chevy based motor home that recently failed smog and is now labeled by the state of CA as a gross polluter (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
I just last night got my Ford Explorer back (had been loaned out to a friend for the last 4 months) I need to a few odds and end so I can sell it or let my daughter start driving it. She will get her drivers license latter this month and I need something for her to get to and from school in. I have a 1993 Audi S4 in storage that needs a turbo, an ignition coil (1 of the 5, not sure which) and a windshield.
I also discovered the roof on my storage shed has rusted thru and been leaking water in.
On the plus side I get to work with a bunch of car guys and hear about their projects, frame off restoration of a Jeep, Ford Ranger Turbo Drag truck, Mitsu Evo Street/Rally car, Toyota Rock crawler, Low rider Impala, etc.... You name it and probably someone here has one.

Hey there weather here will probably be nice this weekend and my wife and I will be able to get out on our bikes (as in bicycles) for a ride. Sacramento has a great bike trail along the American river. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

My other projects are mostly house mods.

I can't afford another vehicle resto until my 914 is done.

Here's mine when I get back home. I'm working over in WI. for a couple more weeks. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

914: Need to pull the engine back out of the Alien and figure out what caused it to lock up. (oh ya non 914)

66 Beetle: Need to finish the brake job, rear axle seals,
figure out why it darts when you stomp the brakes, cut out and weld in a repair section for the hacked dash.
Install the 5 boxes of new parts I have for the interior.
(cool striped phosphate and green two tone)
