Anyone going to the Las Vegas event this weekend?

I don't know much about it other than I'm leaving Friday night.
Test and tune Friday.
Qualifying Saturday.
Trophy Sunday.

We'll have two cars out there.
Jim Patrick's class B 70 914-6.

And Steve Starrick's '96 911 993 GT-2 RSR.

If you do go, come by and see us.
I'll be the young guy running around in the Patrick Motorsports shirt.
Should be fun, hope to see you there!

Jim,

I won't make it.
I'm changing shocks, tuning, corner balancing, and aligning this weekend in order to go to Eagles Canyon (near dallas TX) in a couple of weeks.

my car is really built more to vintage rules than PCA rules.
(ie: all metal bodywork)

not 100% sure which cars will come from AJRS
no 2.0's though
Allen may bring his 914 which is a chalon bodied 2.2 /4 that typically out runs most big -6 cars. (Literally runs with 2.8/6-ers)

I hope he brings it
you will be impressed
have fun... its going to be a blast.

its blue and light green
I don't think he was at Cal..
he was at a local event a couple weeks ago and didn't mention it.

I know of 2 914/6 monster cars from AJRS that are for sale right now
one is a slope windshield' 2.8 FI (gt4)
the other a really really amazing orange chop top which runs in gt3, I think a 3.3 or 3.4 with FI

I'm going to get some pics soon and put them up
they may be at the event (at least the gt4)
but Allen's 4 cylinder runs the old gt5 class and probably will again
I'm guessing that Jim's car will probably be a gt5 with the new power to weight rules.

take pictures
and have a blast

hes very low power actually, well all things being relative.
hes basically a stock 2.0L.
its had somethings done to it but nothing that radical.
we have PMO carbs on it and twin plugs as well as a custom header.

hopefully there will be some 2.0L 911's.
it's always more fun when there is good competition, especially class competition.

I'm really really stock

single plug, only 9.8 compression, and euro header
probably 50hp down I'm guessing from Jim's car
what kind of weight is he at?

I couldn't find any 4 cylinder pictures
here are some old ones of the 2 for sale:

I'm almost positive you'll see this car there
its an ajrs 4 cylinder
runs a 1.7
probably overbored.. but used to fit into the 17xx limit of gt6

(can't remember the old limit, but well under 2.0.. it was a class created for the 356)

its got a lot of the standard tricks... laid back windshield, etc.

i dont know how heavy he is.
it hasnt needed to be corner balanced since i first started about 7 months ago.
i heard a couple months ago that HSR is now making it illegal to run a laid back windshield.

Jim's 993 speedster is getting closer and closer to ready and i think hes planning on running it in HRS and PCA next year.

If you ever have the opportunity or hear about the weight, I'd be curious.

none of these cars are vintage legal out here either
they were all built as PCA cars
I know HSR is much ... much more lenient than most of the vintage clubs
heck mine won't allow fiberglass body panels (not even fiberglass flares)
and mine won't allow a chassis that isn't 1972 or older...

you guys will have a blast
good for you!

dandh,
its a pca club race
I don't honestly know the details
but they are on the porsche club of america, website
usually they typically run practice on friday
practice-qualifying on saturday
and practice- 2 sprint races on sunday

usually admission is free and you can go if you sign a waiver
but the local region sponsoring the event gets to make any final decision about entry fee and spectator stuff
