Paul has been trying to get his car back on the road since his engine failure. He located a car near me. We met up there and saved the poor thing from the cows.
The car is in very bad shape. Here's a couple of photos. Believe it or not the engine actually turned over nicely. We have high hopes this will be a good stop gap engine until Paul gets his dead engine fixed. |

Rick and Paul visited me Saturday night, they left the engine with me till Paul needs it.
it looks like something you would dig out of the ground.... A heavy soaking in Kerosene and wire brush is needed.... |

914 archeology... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/popcorn[1].gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/popcorn[1].gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/popcorn[1].gif) Those hubcaps would make a great "award" for a 914 event... John |

John (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) Now there's an idea! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) What's the story? Were these Porsche caps? Dealer item? Aftermarket? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) Paul and I kind of looked at them like they were pretty cheesy. But I thought one would look good on the garage wall anyway. |

Right, they are cheesy, thus the quotes on "award". Still, hanging them on your garage wall is pretty cool so it would not totally be a joke award... John |

Wow, the pics look that thing look NICE!
Rick's the guy of the year for all the help. I just hope he can make good use of the interior and front clip parts he needs to get that raspberry car built! Yes, there's a couple hours of cleaning, but I think this will fix the drivability issue for the short-term... I'll be putting my dual webers on, and I can re-jet down to the 1.8, so no worries there... I think there are lots of good parts: 1.8l w/sideshift 1.7/8 stainless exhaust + functional dual Monza muffler external oil cooler italian yellow fogs shark-style front air dam (identical to this month's car) retrievable front bumper with very good top Very good rear bumper top very good targa top (good weather stripping) decent harness Excellent interior parts for Rick: Steering Wheel Dash top Knee pad Very nice console w/original shift knob + his front clip for grafting ...Oh, and those trick hub caps! oops, forgot to mention 2 COOL little tech booklets! |

Oh! I forgot about the tech books Paul found in the car. I'll scan the cover and post it! There were two books so we both got one! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif) |

I just thought let you all know, I plan on using what ever Paul decides he doesn't want to rebuild the Raspberry car. I think between what I have in storage and what is left of the car Paul and I picked up. I should be close to having a chassis and most of an interior. For those of you that don't know what I'm taking about here's the car I plan on saving. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/screwy.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif) Due to the condition of this car I needed a really complete donor I have very little money invested in to make it worth doing.
