I did a search and I " think " I have the answer to this question. I removed my fuel tank in my 75 last year and I don't remember the orientation of the two fuel fittings/pipes on the bottom of the tank. From my search it looks like they point towards the passenger side fender maybe slanted towards the firewall 10 degrees or so. I also have added a thru body sway bar if that matters. I have about 20 inches of extra hose to make a good service loop but I want to make sure the fittings don't hit the sway bar.

Fitting end up behind the sway bar so just don't point them forward. If you have rigged up a service loop then point them to the drivers side a little aft. that way the hoses will route across the car and then loop back to the hole where they go to the fuel pump or fittings.
