I haven't tried it, but where is your air coming from?
You'd need a naca duct or something similar on your rear lid. |

what about opening the back panel, like in the photo but at centerline.
get air from underneath, cut hole in trunk floor. maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree, just don't want to cut up the front trunk. looks to purty right now. dr |

If you cut a hole in the trunk, aren't you using pre-heated air?
that's also a low pressure area right? so, your volume will be kinda low. |

you could use electic fans to increase the airflow, but you are still using HOT air...

On that car, at least, it's a transmission cooler. I don't think I'd trust it as an oil cooler.
Air comes in from the engine bay, via the two circles where the latches would sit if the roof were stored in the trunk. Not a lot of flow, but some. Prolly good enough for a tranny cooler. --DD |

I don't think its a great Idea..
not enough air flow... plus you really don't want to move the weight back there.. plus its behind the wheels so thats even worse... front coolers are tried and true for oil... b |

The lid for that car probably has an inlet scoop. Otherwise all you'd be doing is heating up the trunk.

QUOTE(seanery @ Mar 16 2004, 12:30 PM) I haven't tried it, but where is your air coming from? You'd need a naca duct or something similar on your rear lid. that car actually has a duct in the rear hood that channels the air down through the cooler. and yes, this is a transmission oil cooler ...
