I'm flaring the rear and want to run 225x55x15 to keep diameter the same as previous tire but when I search for tires, I don't see any available in this size at the big chain/discount tire stores. Is this size still avalable and if so, where are you getting your tires? Thanks, Mark

Try Tire Rack, and shop by size:
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSearchRe...mp;x=68&y=8 They ship UPS and tires arrive in 2 days. I had mine sent to the place where I had them installed. |

Only see 2 track tires there. That kinda answers your question; for most sizes, there is usually a long list, with a variety of brands and price points.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) |

Mark, go with 16x8's in the rear and fit the 245/45R16 which will match revs for 155/80R15 OR 245/50R16 which will match revs for 165/80R15.
All depends on what year car yours turns out to be. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/drunk.gif) |

I want to match revs for 205x60x15 and still have the right "look" for the car.

Go with 225/50-15 I think the 55s will look too tall and have giant side walls. The revs will only be slightly altered but will be worth the huge improvement in looks.
I will be running 7s and 8s x 16 with 205/50-16 fronts and 225/45-16 rears on my GT replica. |

60 series is period correct. If you go 16's be prepared to spend big dollars to get a set of 16x8 Fuch wheels, but the tire choices are far more plentiful.

Thanks, Mark Should be 225 50 15 that is the usual size used on the rear 7 inch or 8 inch wheel under the rear flare. 205 55 15 in the front on a seven |

Not many tires available in 225x50x15 either. Hate to buy into obsolete size with what these wheels will cost.

Toyo RA1s come in 225 50 zr15. You can order them from AIM Tires for a good price at 707-938-9193.
The RA1s are a great tire |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif) Andy I'm not saying they haven't been out for a long time and available in the past, I'm concerned that the selection is decreasing for the future. Even my Mother in Law's turbo Beetle takes 17 inch wheels. I do appreciate everyone's input! |

Here's a link to the tires i have been running for the last 8 years or so. http://www.bigotires.com/Tire%20Detail/NANKANG/EX500/12293 Great street tires! IMO, 60 series is to tall for a 225. It's certainly to tall for my motor.
