Hey Guys,
I'm looking for a step by step thread or link that I can follow to drop my engine. I also need to know at what height it is recommended that I raise the rear of my car in order to get the engine out. Any help would be great....we want to do this tonight. Thanks ED |

Pulling an engine isn't too tough.. just be safe, have a friend nearby, and take your time... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif)

I don't remember where I found this tip, but it works great for me. When I have the car jacked up as far as I can get it, I put a jack under the engine bar and replace the bolt on each side with a 2 foot piece of 3/8" threaded rod with nuts and flat washers on each end (one side at a time). I then put a floorjack under the tranny. This allows me to slowly drop the driveline with maximum control from right to left and rear. This helps to clear the fuel runners and CVs, and gives you an opportunity to notice anything you forgot to disconnect before you have ruined anything. |
