Buckle up for the Ride (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) http://pca.org/Panorama/PanoramaPhotoVideo...010RaceRun.aspx That is awesome TC, I never reallly understood why Pike's goes from asphalt to dirt to asphalt and back? Why is it not one or the other all the way? Will the wash out areas not hold the asphalt? |

Buckle up for the Ride Get out of my head ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/slap.gif) I just showed that video to a friend of mine last night. He's a Ferrari guy and likes to boast about his driving skills. He was pretty quiet after watching the video ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

Perfect spot for Teenergeddon 2012! Pretty close to Cheyenne Mountain! You think it's high enough to survive the great flood? Or will we all just tumble over the cliff during the earthquakes? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) |

And Jeff is a 914 guy too. He should be a member here. Anyone know him to invite him to join?

I never reallly understood why Pike's goes from asphalt to dirt to asphalt and back? Why is it not one or the other all the way? Will the wash out areas not hold the asphalt? The Hill Climb was once all dirt. The 1st auto to make took Nine Hours! Louis Unser held the Record for years that he set in the 50's at a shade over 15Minutes. The Road has been getting more pavement in the last decade or so. I believe the problem is that the road is open to Tourists much of the year and the dirt road gets a lot of wear & tear. It is much more expensive to keep repairing than laying down engineered pavement. I've watched the Video way too many times now and I can tell you Jeff's driving style is so drastically different between asphalt & dirt. He was Balls in, All-Out on the dirt attacking like mad. On the pavement, he was merely driving very fast. I am assuming that is mostly to the car being set-up (tires, spring/shock settings, etc) stroner for the dirt By next year the entire course will be paved. They expect Records to tumble and some classes of cars going away & others appearing. http://www.projo.com/projocars/content/ca_..._v5.55aa03.html |
