I am a novice with respect to Porsches and the 914 specifically. I have always been attracted to the 914 GT and hoped to own one. I am now at a point that I can begin my research and hopefully locate one.

Can anyone help me gather information on the model and pricing and availability?

Thanks

Real GT's are rare and don't change hands too often. If you are willing to settle for a m471 or clone, your chances of owning one would be greatly improved.

real GTs are in the US$ 300-400k area ... and hardly available

real M471 are in the US$ 70-130k area ... and also hardly available

Are you by chance John Kerry?

There are many cars here that are clones with many hours of making them to perfection. I'm sure someone here will give us a better price, but probably in the area of $25-30k.

M471 is an option package that was available. The dealer installed the flares and a few other bits to make an otherwise stock 914-6 look like a GT. A real 914-6 GT is a stripped down full blown race car.

Wasn't this place on 'Chasing Classic Cars'? I think I remember them looking for a Mercedes, and they walk in and the guy says, "Oh! Look at that 914!"

Well there you go, learned something new. I had always thought the majority of the M471 optioned cars were done by the dealer. Thanks for the clarification.

Does anyone know of a location on the web that displays true GT's.
Also is there any history and details on the GT's?
