Wish my car had been ready too. Could have at least had it in corral.

First was a 1970 914-6 belonging to Klaus Kindor of Placentia. Bright Red with full flares, this thing was about as far as you can go with a 6 and still have all Porsche parts on it. All suspension and brakes were from various years of 911 turbos. Looked like well over $100k into that build.

The second was a 1974 factory racer 914-6, now in the collection of Don Murray in Laguna Beach. This car, in signal orange I believe, was simply stunning. It was the 914-6 that waas previously in Bruce Canepa's shop and was glimpsed in an episode of "Chasing Classic Cars" when Wayne Carini gasped, "look aat that 914!" The "Fly Lufthansa" decaled car stood next to Chad McQueens's race-worn 911S and the two of them together kept me occupied for an hour.

,
No pics yet, but will post when I get back home.

Not a pic of the 914-6's, but here is Chad's 911 during the Tour. Ferrari was holding him up and the Tesla was keeping up with him easily.

You are right. It is listed in the program as a 1974, but it is, I believe, a true 914-6 GT. I was so busy chatting I didn't think to jot down VIN. But, I have number of th eguy who maintains the collection and will find out more.
It definitely was the car in Canepa's shop though.

Another pair of Porsches on the Box Canyon Run.

And a 1950 Ferrari 166 Mille Miglia Superleggera that drove the Tour! Valued over 1 million, the owner said this was the most the car had been driven in at least 10 years.

Seen the Klaus Kinder car at C & C. Seems like he was trying to sell it...

See: http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?sho...hl=Klaus+Kindor

Yes, He mentioned he would sell it but didn't have a price on it yet.

I did get the VIN for the 914-6GT that was there. It was 1970 Porsche 914-6 GT
Chassis No.: 914 043 1415

So that confirms it was the Lufthansa 914-6 GT sold at Canepa's shop last year, and placed second in class and lap record — 1970 Nürburgring 1000KM

Don Murray the owner may be the Don Murray who starred in Bus Stop with Marilyn Monroe. I am just guessing but it sure looked like him.
