just picked up the tin at the powdercoaters.
we did a textured silver finish. wanted it to look like cast aluminum, came out pretty nice. the valve covers didn't come out as nice though. the inside is bare blasted metal not super smooth like the original finish. not sure we will use them. i cut the main tins pretty high but you can see how the smaller air guides fit up into the main shroud. should work ok, I'll let you know. dr Attached image(s)

looks great. Where does one fo for this process? Like, do the same people who do metal refinishing and chroming do powder coating as well? Can you choose the exact color?

Check your yellow pages... even sleepy Des Moines has a couple of places that does powdercoating. There are a mind-boggling amount of colors, textures and metallics available. If you're a DIY guy, check out http://www.columbiacoatings.com/. They sell a very nice powdercoating system that you can use in your garage.
