I am busy sorting out my front suspension and want to fit bump steer spacers. Where do I loosen the steering rack on the steering column in order to lift it up to make space for the bump steer spacers?

Thamks. Do I access the U joints from inside the cabin or do I have to remove the fuel tank?

Do I access the U joints from inside the cabin or do I have to remove the fuel tank? in a LHD car it's pretty easy to get at the upper U-joint inside the cabin, under the dash; i presume it's the same for a RHD car but i've never seen one, so YMMV. the lower one is, i believe - accessible from underneath, via the access panel - but it's been too long for me to remember, sorry ... give it a go with the upper joint and see if that doesn't work for you. unless you've found a way to raise the rack A LOT more than normal, it should do the trick ... |

only one u-joint. it's inside the car ...
if you just install the spacers, you might not even have to undo that u-joint. just loosening the streering rack bolts from underneath should be enough. btw. make sure you got the longer bolts so you get enough thread with those spacers! Andy |
