When I begin to push on the throttle peddal it feels stuck then gives way. I hate this. When the 1.7 was in it didn't do this. Just since I put in the 2.0. The butterfly was frozen to the sides of the body when I got the engine & it took a lot of spraying & scraping to free it. I thought I'd sanded & steel wooled it enough. I also thought it might be the way I ahve the linkage connected. Here's a few pics. Can anyone see anything that might cause the stickiness?

Hey Bruce,
I had the same problem. I found that i needed another spring attached to the part that the throttle cable is attached to.

If the throttle body is worn it will stick closed. Mine used to do this until I swapped TBs. It was the worst when the car was cold in the morning.
