Can anyone tell me what purpose the styrophome block on the passinger side floor board serves? I am refering to the foam piece on the floor board where the cockpit meets the fuel tank.
I am preparing to POR my floor board. Should I try to remove this chunk of foam or just paint over it? BTW, mine is a '72. Is this some kind of pre-footrest that I have read about? Any help is appreciated. thx |

It just gives the passenger a nice flat place to put their feet. Yank it carefully and then put it back. No problem. It's not the "pre-footrest" you've heard about. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Pull it out.. POR that area and put it back when you are done. All the carpet kits are cut for it. It is nothing more than a foot rest for the passengers.

I took mine out and am going to use the space for the subwoofer. The enclosure I am making will use that space. I should still have room for passengers feet.

'75 and '76 (maybe earlier too, not sure) cars have a cavity inside with a pressboard cover. This was used to hide the EGR counter thingy.
For those of us without EGR counters.... you hide your weed in there! |

Next trip I'm gonna smuggle a belt in for Mike. If we tighten it enough it just might squeeze all the shit out of him and he would disappear.

I left mine in. Excellant floatation device. I drive right down the boat launch ramp and putt-putt around the Bay. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol2.gif)
