wanted to mount my bosch coil on the other side of metal bulhead in the rear trunk.
is it a problem running the coil lead thru a metal bulkhead with regard to arcing etc? the other location I had in mind is about 12" away from the CD box. Is that a bad choice as well. My intention is to mount as many components out of the engine bay for easy access and motor removal. thanks, dr |

QUOTE(synthesisdv @ Sep 1 2004, 08:34 AM) wanted to mount my bosch coil on the other side of metal bulhead in the rear trunk. is it a problem running the coil lead thru a metal bulkhead with regard to arcing etc? run a nice grommet and you'll be fine; i've seen this on many race cars. check with your safety/tech guys regarding holes in the firewall tho... |

For a real Whoop-de-doo, MSD makes this, and other ignition system manufacturers probably make something similar

I have one of those MSD thru-wall things on my car.
Works well. Paul |

Also be sure to mount the coil very secure. I have mine come loose once and it srcews everything up real quick.
