I guess I have a free copy coming now. I thought I was subscribing. They need to get a secure payment form to collect the money up front.

New RS?
"With each successive generation, Porsche’s 911 gets faster and better handling. It also gets heavier, more refined, and more in tune with an expanding base of customers who want a Porsche, but aren’t always prepared to put up with the discomforts that came with older versions, and they wear skirts, very effiminate skirts, and use spit to slick their eyebrow." Welcome to the 20th Century!!! <_<
( =+=+=+ Parenthetical rant alert =+=+=+ I recall the "WTF" experience around 2 years ago of having to FAX a basic change of address to them, as they did not seem to get the message from the USPS filings, nor were there email or even phone contact options. Even back then, it was shocking to me. And, I lost one issue which was never replaced despite my request. None of this happened with my numerous other subscriptions.) Anyways, it has been one of my favorite mags for the last ahem, 12+ years?!??!, and I am very glad they are progressing with the waves of technology, albeit slowly. Sorry about that Chris! I've just had to shake my head for 7 years about that kind of stuff. If you never got the issue, PM me on how to get it to you and which one it was...
Yes, we're old fashioned: we just do magazines. But I seem to remember a time when ".com" added to anything was better. A lot of those who followed the trend are long gone. It's wasn't bad technology, of course (look where we are now) but Tom isn't trendy. Neither is Excellence. And neither are Porsches. I do hope, however, that the website will enhance our customer service and alleviate (fair) frustration with our old-fashioned-ness! cheers! pete |

Pete: Just let me say as a long time subscriber that when the Excellence arrives it makes my day (acutally several days until I've read it cover to cover) and without any doubt your mag is the single best Porsche magazine out there - bar none. Keep up the good work and all new technology ain't necessarily a good thing. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

"...and all new technology ain't necessarily a good thing."
Maybe the single best reason for keeping the 914 (or any older Porsche) in a nutshell. That said, y'all have just GOT to worm your way into a GT3. Thanks! pete |

Yep, for pure speed and as a track car, the Z06 kills almost everything.
On a backroad, it feels like an incredible motor lost in a sea of fiberglass. If you care as much about finesse as you do speed, the GT3 is worth every penny extra. I just wish I had the extra "pennies" to buy one! pete |
