What gauge are the sheet metal pieces that are covered with vinyl and stuck to the dash face? I'm planning to replace those on my dash face ('75) but they seem to be a plastic coated metal or something.

Definitely not 18. Probably thinner than 20. At least on my '71
I did not measure it when it was off but it was clearly thinner than a body panel. |
