So... Im getting some idea's for my 18th party... I'll be inviting all of my senior class (Christian high school... Sorry to dissapoint some of you... lol) of about 35 kids.. Probably 20 will come.
Where planning a video scavenger hunt... Time period is from 7:30 to 12 so it will be on a friday night. After 12 the girls will be going home and the guys will be staying for video games, lan party and halo style.. But my focus is on the video scavenger hunt, I did it last year to great effect, and I want to do it again.. But better. So does anyone have any idea's for the video scavenger hunt? Or anything else? Gracies.. Andrew |

Figures Christian boy wouldn't know. Just playing, I went to a Christian school for a while too.
Have them try to get something that is not super common, like a cop pulling someone over, or something like that. Or, maybe I am reading this wrong, and you are gonna watch videos and find stuff in them? |

Go to Canada. Get drunk. Party all night. Come home.
Substitue anywhere in Europe, New Zealand or Australia if you have the funds/time etc. I highly recommend Amsterdam and London. My 18th birthday party (in a country with a sensible drinking age minimum) consisted of about 20 of my friends (including one who DJs for fun) getting rip-roaringly drunk at a party at my house. I ended up with 18 written in shaving foam accross my chest being given the bumps on my front lawn. My DJ friend filled my lounge with smoke machine fog (you couldn't see more than a foot in front of you). Another of my friends went around hugging trees (strange drunken behaviour). I threw parties about one every 2 months during that period of my life. It was awesome. Whatever you do - do it to the max, stay safe, and have fun. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif) |

Scavenger hunt
We group up in teams and go do stuff.. like fit everyone in a phone booth, chineese fire drill, propose in a store... With video we tape these things, and then we can add things such as tape someone smoking, a bum, a burnt out light bulb on a sign, bla bla bla... Then afterwards we watch and laugh. Im asking the wrong group.. lol Let me wait 2 hours till all the partyers are awake... Andrew (dads comp... lol) |

Oh yeah....
We take part in a Scare-venger hunt every year at the Castro street party in SF. That's a riot. If you can get down here for halloween it's well worth it. Fiid. |

i don't think that a scare-venger hunt in the Castro is exactly what these Christian kids have in mind!
(IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol2.gif) i remember my 18th bday. there were two open-minded hippie-chicks and a bottle of jim beam. 'nuff said. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) for the scavenger hunt: go to a good club (there are some that are 18+), and make each other a list of inane things to do: e.g. get a few phone numbers, make out w/ a stranger, get your nipple sucked, whatever... makes for good video footage. |

suck for a buck was a very family friendly event. Stick lifesavers onto your shirt and pay people to eat them off you. Harmless!! Plus you make a couple bucks. It's amazing how generous people are when they know it's a special day (birthday, bachelorette party, etc...) Hmmm.... this may work better if you're a girl, on second thought.

Girls don't need special occasions for guys to lick lifesavers off of them. Guys will do that anytime.

When I turned 18, I didn't have a party... me and my friends crashed someone else's (IMG:style_emoticons/default/w00t.gif)
Actually we'd do that every weekend (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif) Getting drunk at someone elses expense is great and cheap (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif) Party-crashing is the best... The less we knew the person having the party, the more fun we had (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mueba.gif) As soon as they ran out of beer, we'd bail and go to a pub Nothing wrong with getting piss-drunk, just don't drive or make smart remarks to the bouncer (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) cheers, Jeroen |

Every b-day since 18 has involved booze and girls. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) |

Hey did you guys not see the part about the christian school. I think that they might frown on gettin piss-ass-drunk. But IMHO that is exactly what should be done. Last scavenger hunt I was involved in was when I was 17, one of the things on the list was a working newspaper machine. Stuffed it in my friends escort station wagon. Good thing we still had it the next day when the cops contacted my friends parents. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

My girlfriend went to a Christian school, and she started drinking when she was 16. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) She's kind of a bad apple, though. But, you certainly don't need to drink to have fun. It just helps. No, I don't have a problem, I can quit anytime, just like I can quit 914s anytime!

Actually... I was sitting at home one night, having a few brown pops after a hard day of work. I got a knock on the door and it was the local church group asking if I would participate in a video scavenger hunt. All I had to do was sit in my bathtub and sing "Row row row my boat" while fake rowing.
I thought about it and said "Yeah, cause no one in their right mind will ever do it" and I figured I'd help them win. So, here I was, half loaded in the bathtub with a bunch of kids taping me. It was funny. They stopped by the next week to thank me, they had won... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) It's my one good deed for the year... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Tom |

Andrew... Ya ... I love this place, but I dont think that you are going to find... humm... the type of responces that you might be looking for. I mean responces from a "christian" perspective that does not involve lots of drinking and girls. I love you guys but i am not going talk theology here if you know what i mean. Here are some ideas that us college kids have used...
First go to a mall (or other very public place) and divide into two teams and make sure that both have a video camera. then have each team complete as many challeges as they can. sometimes you can assign points to each one based on level of dificulty or embarassment. but this is optional. and then get watch the funny videos at the end. Here are some good ideas... a requirement is that they all be in a very public place unless other wise stated 1. someone singing the national anthem loudly 2. get a security guard to let you barrow his hat and badge 3. go into a sports store and have a girl ask someone who works there if they have any cups (athletic supporters) that are larger or smaller (you pick) then what they have. 3. Have someone pick their butt for an extended about of a time. 4. get a security guard getting you in trouble on camera. 5. Of course you always have your get someone of the opp. sex to give you a kill. 6. Get someone willing to film them in their boxers/underpants 7. Have group members participate in any sort of emb. conversation loudly in public. I know there are more... I have not done one of these but others have and i will ask for some other good ones. hope this gives you some good ideas 8. |
