I just pulled off the 914 front suspension (more work than I thought, master cylinder had to come off) and I noticed the tie rods are quite different between what I took off, and what is going in its place.

Here's the 914 tie rod: (boot doesn't cover inner tie rod joint)

bottom pic are infact turbos...see how the joint at the steering box is a metal/metal ball joint. AND the magic 'dont turn me too far' washers

Hehe. So with these tie rods, do I need to order new boots for a 930? (the boots are kinda wearing through in a few spots where it looks like it was rubbing on something) Maybe I'll just repair the boots with some silicone, unless they're really cheap.

i'd call your favorate parts haus, and see if they have the boots from a turbo tie rod kit.
