Went to replace my firewall shift bushing today ('74) with the AA "replacement" R91442422400 O.E.M. SHIFT SLEEVE / AKA FIREWALL BUSHING
Funny thing is, the two pieces seem to be much different sizes - the new replacement being bigger The last pic show best how the ID of the original bushing is about 3/16" smaller than the replacement (original 13/16" ID, replacement 1" ID). AA's site lists 4 different looking parts for with the same part number. Pelican lists 3 variants of the 914424224: -00 M260 (OEM for the 1.7L, 3 req'd per car), -02 M737 (Hamburg Rear Shift Rod Bushing) and -03 M260 (OEM 2.0L Firewall Shift Bushing). Bird Board Shift Bushings Looks like I need the -03 M260 and that I have an -00 M260?? |

Tail shifters , up till 73, have a larger hole in the firewall where the bushing goes.
So, there are three possible bushings he stocks. Stock tail shifter bushing Side shifter bushing 73 onwards Conversion bushing to put a side shifter linkage in an early body... Rich |

That's a conversion bushing. It's used to convert an early tailshifter car to the later sideshifter setup.

Just ordered one the other day for a 72 with a side shift conversion. Cost is around $19.00 with shipping. They sell a complete kit of all of the bushings, " Super Kit" for @ $40.00.

Here are the tailshift (914 424 224 00) and sideshift (914 424 224 03) firewall bushings. I think you need the 03. If you haven't already ordered it from Pelican PM me a shipping address and I will send you the one in this pic.
