I pulled out the center console to make room for me legs. Also pulled out the heater lever so I essentially have a flat floor with the exception of the shifetr; closer to stock I guess.
I want to make a carpet piece for the center and have a nice shift boot and ring. I am not sure how this will all "bolt" down. Looking for a clean setup, carpet, ring, boot. How is the factory setup? Rubber boot only or didi they have a leather bag? Thinking of getting this ring to use but again not sure how it will come all together. http://www.ebay.com/itm/221163386168?ssPag...984.m1423.l2648 The boots I am seeing for sale are not that nice. Any pics of what is out there and what you all have done? |

No ring and 911SC boot just sits flat on top of the carpet.
SC boot - about $30.00 Renn-shift from J-west under boot - a lot more, but worth it. Tom Attached thumbnail(s) ![]() |

Stock is just a rubber boot attached to the carpet.

Stock is just a rubber boot attached to the carpet. --DD Want to something more finished. Maybe bag over the rubber, no rubber, ...or nothing at all and just a 2" hole in carpet fitted around the swivel collar... hmm that would look naked..but clean. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) |

I made a bag/boot out of the same vinyl that I used on my dash. It looks pretty good on my rennshift with one of my 917 knobs on the top. I thought I had a pic of it somewhere but it looks like I don't. :-/

You could get some black leather and add a "ring-base" to your existing leather console piece.

You could get some black leather and add a "ring-base" to your existing leather console piece. This is basically how mine works - it's a stock 914 console boot, with the plastic ring holding it inside. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/www.haphazard.com-11334-1364254167.1.jpg) |
