Are the Empi HPMX carbs the same as the webbers IDF?

Visually, they appear very similar - same jets and emulsion tubes.

I have a set on my 1.8 and have been very happy with them. Jake Raby has some info about them on his site as well as others....

The general consensus is they are made better (less additional work required) than the current crop of webers. Both are chinese made - but someone is keeping a better eye on the HPMX fabrication... I assume.

I have a set of the 44s on my car. I JB welded the enrichener plungers shut and put a filter over the bowl vents and they have been almost flawless ever since.
