Were 14 x 5.5" and 15 x 5.5" Fuchs optional on 914-6s?

I'm pretty sure 14" Fuchs were an option, but the Brett Johnson book just says 15"...

15 x 5.5 Steel rims were standard.
14x 5.5 Fuchs 914-6. . . No 15 Fuchs per the Porsche Parts Book
15 x 5.5 if the Gas Burners

IIRC GT's came with 15's

195/60's put the speedo within a couple of MPH at 60 and makes a nicer gear ratio

195-65 are pretty close as well. The tire selections are rather limited if you want a high performance tire, but a lot of folks are going for a more vintage look with the correct aspect ratio these days.

I found that using an iPhone GPS speedometer app seems to give a good idea of the accuracy of your speedometer.

I think that's what I've seen too. Might have the 15 Fuchs on the M471 package too.

The Porsche PET does list Fuchs wheels in both 14" and 15", in addition to the steel and Mahle wheels, so I assume they were available. However, I don't seem to remember any 914-6s actually being delivered that way.

there is no way they would put a 6 inch wide wheel on a 914, factory back then.....flagship 911
except M471

Lots of right answers here. No 15" Fuchs until M471 came along. Steel wheels and chrome wheels were 15" 5.5. Fuchs were 14" 5.5.

My original 1970's Factory hard book parts manual does not list 15 inch Fuchs, only the 14's and the 15 inch gas burners. A lot of six's had dealer added Fuchs rims.
