I had my motor on a milk crate- (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/headbang.gif)
The crate collapsed and shifted, dennting both oil return tubes on one side of the motor. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif) This should put a kink in my 914 fantasy. I am very disappointed. Almost sick. I looking at a tear down to replace these things. No serious damage just very depressing, as the motor was to go in tomorrow... Got the clutch and pressure plate back on though (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/dry.gif) KT Attached image(s)

No worries. Get a couple of replacement tubes. The usual suspects sell collapsable tubes that you can install without tearing the engine down further.
Hang in there!!!! -Lawrence |

I was able to squeeze the bent one out.
Why cant they push through like on the type FOUR's? Unless someone tells me otherwise, this baby's coming apart. Maybe, well find out the true displacement after all. I hurl... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/barf.gif) KT Attached image(s)

Trekkor get the return tubes that collapse they are very inexpensive. I just replaced the seals on each end and the center seals too on my 911. Thanks Mark

Take a pair of channel locks and twist the tube out. There is a tech article on the bird board.

I was going to ask what the blue thing was, it looked like a condom sorta. I hate when stuff like that happens, right when you think everything is going to go smoothly. At least from what everyone says, its an easy and inexpensive fix. Good luck with it.

milk crates are designed to hold four gallons of milk/ or nine cartons not a frikin engine!!! Just in case you needed a verbal spanking! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/blink.gif) Glad you got it figured |

Ouch!
Well, at least your mistake will teach me (and possibly others) a lesson before I go put my motor back in. |

The push rod survived. Better check it twice find out weather it's naughty or nice. Man I figured it would just come out like the 4bangers. At least you dont need some funky keeper spring in your motor.

Trekkor you were venturing down the road to becoming a DAPO. So if you keep the car which I know you are that just makes you a DA. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif)
