Spent the weekend fighting the drivers side window crank, replaced the nylon button that connects the worm gear to the window plate that was split. Now when I try to roll up the window it will pops like the gears are slipping.
It felt like it was binding so I spent a lot of time lubricating everything and adjusting so that the window will slide up and down pretty freely by hand but when I hook the worm gear to it, it rolls down smooth but cranking it up it will slip and pop at the crank gear. I swapped the long spring worm gear with the passenger side and it was a little better but will still slip going up, I am guessing that the crank gear must be worn. Am I missing something or has anyone had good results fixing these? |

If the button is worn, it will pop out the flimsy metal clip that holds it to the "snake" thingy.
I have not found a good way to fix this ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) |
