I've never claimed to be an expert on the 914.... Just a fan.

But $5000 for a teener with no paint, a cracked dash, no carpet, and a 4-cyl????

I don't see what the big deal is, if he gets no bites and then does some research into what cars in that condition goes for he'll learn what he should really be expecting.....if someone buys it and then complains, it's thier own damn fault for not shopping around and learning.....

Ok, cool, at least I don't feel too stupid then.

I did however see an LE car for like $2500 BIN. Looked pretty decent actually, even though it needed an engine.

No - you're not missing anything, but the seller is missing something important - a bid.

Anyone can put up an auction for whatever price they want. That price has no reflection on the value of the car.
