As the heading says. I'm presently on the look out for an early 1.7 four to build up for historic racing and I think the side shifter started in late 72 build cars, but would like the definitive answer if possible. Don't want to get done for an illegal gearbox.

from my best knowledge, the side shifter was introduced with model year 1973
that begun somewhen in late July / early August 1972 the VIN would be 4732900001 => |
