Got a few of questions regarding installing the CHT 1000 gage from Aircraft Spruce:

1) Should I buy the 15 or 7 foot lead? I know the 15' would be safer, but I don't want to coil lots of wire.

2) Can I put the sensor under the d-jet cht sensor or does it have to go under the #3 plug?

3) Can I use the 14mm lead end on 12mm spark plug? Planning on an engine swap soon and.don't want to buy 2 lead ends.

Others may have more experience and better input, but here are my thoughts:

1. Get the 15 foot. If you have to coil it, it's better than being short, and 7' seems way short. On my Dakota Digital CHT I THINK I got the 10 foot option which I thought would be plenty long. But once you start trying to wrap the leads out of the way you quickly chew up linear length, and right now I could use another foot or two.

2. It would seem to me you COULD put it under the CHT sensor. What's the problem with putting it on the #3 plug, though?

3. Not sure. I do know with the Dakota Digital I had to increase the size of the opening so I could get it over the spark plug threads. (Maybe that's why you want to put it under the CHT?).
