I found the old coil packed up in a box of parts with the original clamp still on it. I have a new coil, but that clamp just isn't cleaning up nice enough to put on my engine.
Now, I'm not going to paint it, so don't tell me that's an option!
I don't have enough parts to have this replated, but I'm not finding new ones on the bird site (GRP jump in here if you can help). Anybody getting ready to plate some parts?

I could have it powder coated in the gun metal color of the fan too

That looks the same as the fuel pump clamp for a 4. I have some of them. What is the ID of the clamp?

If you re-plate, you should get a new sticker too.

Truthfully, I like the way it looks. Maybe you buy a new one and sell that one to someone that wants a little patina.

I have a -4 so mine has a special clamp for the fan housing or I would be the 1st to make an offer.

Engine looks awesome, BTW>

IMHO replate or powdercoat that one. My experience with " NEW : ones is the metal is thinner and they typically don't fit well. too big. That said I haven't bought one in several years for these very reasons so they may be better now. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

Looks like the fuel pump clamp and not the coil.

Powder coated gun metal to match everything else.

Or, you could paint it blue....sort of shocked you won't consider that option.

Where is the coil mounted on a 6 or 6 conversion? I bought a 2.7 core sans coil that a I am slowly rebuilding. I hadn't even thought about the coil until stumbling across this thread. I know you can mount it anywhere the wires will reach, but what is the most common location?
