they are pretty decent looking wheels but my god 2500$ for a set? what are your thoughts? personally I don't think these rims are that rare.I have seen sets of five that were completely refurbished on this site for 700! 2.0 fuchs that is.

worth it? or not?

My buddy scored a set for $250 last summer...lucky bastage (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

There a set on the toronto Kijiji for $650 right now. $600 is about the price I'd pay, maybe $800 for a real super clean set.

$2500 seems to be way over market value.

I have 6 of the same 4-lug Fuchs that came off my '73 in about the same condition and I'm thinking $150 each is about where the market is.

It depends on what condition they're in. I scored an extra set of LE Mahles practically for free, but after I had all 5 refinished & new rubber mounted & balanced I had close to $2500 into them. If I sold one of my sets I wouldn't let it go for less.

Yes but what you want and what you get are to different things, or you just don't sell.

A good example is how many peeps here managed to sell their restored 914 for what they had into it?

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) $600-800 for a perfect set. 400-600 for a good set.

Some of the VW guys are nuts about the 914 2.0L Fuchs or the 5 lug gas burners for their bug/ghia/splitty. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/chair.gif)

You're right of course but #1 they're not for sale & #2 I don't get what I got into them I don't sell them. LE rims are loud/unique & a serious pain in the posterior to restore. Someone restoring a Creamsicle or a Bumblebee can either pay or learn & pay for themselves.

That is someone who apparently thinks those wheels are rare. They are readily available and typically one fifth of that price for a set. I do love those wheels on the 914 in their stock anodized appearance.

2500 seems high until

You go looking for perfect chrome bumper s and rrubber tops

I'm sure 2500 for that too but

The wheels are light ,look good an d require no
Mods I e 5 th lug

I bought 5 4 bolt Fuchs for 600

4 years ago . They looked brand new ,xtremly chrome mirror finish

,that and the horn are the best and only ungrades I 've ever done

And we're worth it .

But I do like the steel 550 type wheels equally or better

$2500 is Nuckin Futs (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) . a grand for a primo set of 4 lug fuchs is good money for them. Times are changing as I sold a full set of polished for $450 2 years ago. Today that same set might push $650 but it takes just the right buyer.

You can buy a set of 4 fully restored 5 1/2 x 14 - 5 lug Fuchs from Sierra Madre for $2,690.00.......IMO these are rarer than the 4 lug Fuchs.
