Well in my never ending quest to break things before Okteenerfest, I met with additional success on Monday by breaking my spedo cable! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif)

Any known tips or tricks for doing this quickly? Or is it going to be the pain I envision of tearing everything out of the interior and tunnel?

The only hard part is removing the cable from the speedo. You can reach up behind the dash, if not able to turn it loose, you can pull the speedo out a bit and reach it. There is a retainer metal tab folded over the cable about have way down the colum under the dash, bend it back for slack.
