Hello

I need advice please

The v8 914 I just picked up came with 4 racing slicks and rims

I do not plan to race the car thought I would try to sell them

Could anyone tell me what these tires and rims are worth

205 50 r15 slicks with american racing 4 bolt rims

Those are EMPI rims (or knockoffs). Worth about $50 a piece. The tires? Who knows, based on age and rubber left

WOW

Thought they would be worth more than that

maybe I would be better off keeping them

Any other opinions?

Thanks

Wheels look nice and clean, you might get a bit more but honestly you can still buy them new, so 50 a piece may be right.

Used race rubber holds value to someone who races and is local, but tires like that age due to ozone and are more dangerous than used street tires so some won't buy them....

Generally a race wheel should be a light as possible. I would guess EMPIs too, which are bug type rims. You might want to measure the wheel size.

The tires are worthless if they are hard as a rock, old, and not stored right. You may be able to decipher the age of the tire by numbers on the tire itself, softness with your fingernail, and if of use, store them in a plastic bag flat.

Otherwise, USE THEM. Tires are the biggest performance enhancement to racing. Go for it.

If they ARE just bug EMPIs, the samba would be a good place to list... and check comps.

Technically those are street legal dot tires and not slicks
All race rubber costs a lot new and has very low value when used

Get the build date from the 4 digits on the sidewall (required by dot)
