can you identify anything about this camshaft:
1) cam is in a short block and it is not desired to split case 2) looking thru the cylinder spigot (the opening in the case for the cylinder), it can be seen that on the cam, between the lobes near the flywheel end, is light tan/beige paint 3) on the same part as is painted (#2 above), is stamped an "8" (as best can be seen on a cam inside an engine). very possibly a VW logo. i tried to paint the logo so it would show up and make an impression of the logo in aluminum foil. i looked on a worn out cam at the same place and it had a "9" and a VW logo. what's your best guess? |
