After reading Larmo63s thread about his newly purchased 73 2.0 I got curious about my built date. I know they post member birthdays but I am more interested on when your 914 was born. Beware I was off by a week until I downloaded a 1975 calendar.

Sooooooo, how do I find day built? Found mine drivers side door next to hinges. Also stamped in rear trunk right hand lower side. January 14, 1971 Thursday, 38th of the day build. That's very cool to know. I'll be taking the teener that day to Jerome, nice winding road. Lots of hair pin turns, for my teeners b day. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) |

In reality this would be the date the body was put together. There would be a lapse between that date and when the completed car rolled out. Following thread gives some insight: http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?sho...c=73886&hl= Memories from when I was entertaining the HAPPY thought the build date was exactly as my birth date (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |
